Library booksale

Jael and I went to our local library booksale this morning. We were nearly trampled by older women with bags of cheap novels, greasy guys snatching Star Trek hardbacks, and moms with little ones. Jael spotted another little girl in a Beco (baby carrier) and they shrieked excitedly at each other. She did quite well, considering she was missing her morning nap, and hung onto a little mini board book while I browsed.

We left with:
The Book of Merlyn, by T.H. White
Rifles for Watie, by Harold Keith
Blue Like Jazz, by Donald Miller
The Tao of Pooh, by Benjamin Hoffman
Helen Keller, by Margaret Davidson
The Simarillion, by J.R.R. Tolkien (a beautiful hardback for $1!)
A Book of Narnians, comp. by James Riordan
On Noah's Ark, by Jan Brett
Birth Without Violence, by Frederick Leboyer
The Child's Fairy Tale Book, by Kay Chorao
Literary Walks of Britain, by Donald Veall

All for $8.50!

If I had to choose a favorite, it would probably be the last book. I brought it home and told Jeff that it is for our trip to England someday. ;) It is full of panoramic pictures of beautiful sites in England inspiring various books and poems from famous authors. Someday, someday, I will get to see them in person.
