I love the way babies fixate on things (can I still call Jael a baby at 13 months?). I picked up some grapefruit this morning at the grocery store and she has been carrying one of them around all morning. First it went in the towel drawer in the kitchen. Then it went inside her toy house. Next she stacked it on top of a box of canning jars. Finally, she played with Daddy and rolled it back and forth between the two of them.

Yesterday it was my chapstick, which went everywhere with her. A few days ago it was a hair clip, which she ended up swishing around in the toilet as if she were stirring soup! (Since then we have instituted a keep-the-toilet-lid-closed policy)

We'll see what tomorrow holds.
